The course is divided into 11 units: an introduction that explains key elements of vocabulary learning such as collocations and affixes, then 10 units each with 40-50 words. These are divided into sets of 10 words, so you can choose to learn each set how you like. For instance if you have more time you may wish to learn 10 a day. However, you could spread this over a few days or even a week.

One of the biggest problems with learning vocabulary is where to start, what words to learn, and how to keep track of it all. By having the sets of words in groups of 10, with 40/50 words connected to each reading around a specific topic, you can organise how you learn them. With the downloadable dictionary you'll have a permanent record of what you've learned and you can refer back to this any time.

It's for anyone taking the IELTS test and who wants to increase their range and knowledge of vocabulary. A good knowledge of vocabulary is critical for a high score. You need good vocabulary to understand the difficult IELTS readings and listenings and you need to use varied and interesting vocabulary in your  writing and speaking. This course is particularly suitable for those around band 4.5 - 6.5 who need to push their band score higher.  

How long does the course take?

That's really up to you as you can take it at your own pace. Each unit is based on one IELTS type reading with 40-50 words, broken down into sets of 10. In order to learn the words properly you'd probably want to spend at least a week on each set of 40-50 words, so perhaps 10 per day. If you have a lot of free time you could work on more.

How long do I have access to the course for?

You have complete and full access to the course and all materials for one year. However, the dictionary is downloadable and you get to keep that so you have a permanent record of all the words you have learned.
